The Rand McNally DriverConnect app offers a range of features to enhance the efficiency and compliance of truck drivers. With this app, users can easily perform tasks such as logging duty statuses, reviewing engine metrics, uploading Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports (DVIR), and tracking the route driven during a trip. The app also enables the generation of inspection reports for safety officials.

One of the key features of the app is its visually represented Hours of Service (HOS) timers, which are accompanied by informative logbook graphs. These timers and graphs help users stay aware of their compliance with HOS regulations. Additionally, the app leverages the Electronic Logging Device (ELD) to provide valuable engine metrics. The ELD, which is connected to a truck's diagnostic port, transmits engine data to the app via Bluetooth. Users can then view data such as average fuel economy, coolant temperature, and boost pressure on easy-to-read gauges.

Managing duty statuses is made simple with the app's logbook functionality. Users can conveniently record, view, edit, and track On Duty, Driving, Off Duty, and Sleeper-Berth duty statuses from within their logbook. Importantly, the app supports US federal and rule sets, including US 8/70. HOS Logs can be effortlessly shared with safety officials during inspections via email.

Another valuable feature of the app is its ability to assist in creating pre-trip and post-trip DVIRs. Users can easily document vehicle inspections by storing images in DVIRs. Additionally, the app allows for the storage of fuel receipts, which can be useful for filing IFTA reports. The app also records location information associated with duty status changes and transmits this data to the DriverConnect portal. Not only does this aid in vehicle tracking and tracing, but it also provides valuable location information for IFTA filings.

Seamless synchronization with the Rand McNally DriverConnect portal ensures that users have access to the most up-to-date reports. This synchronization can be achieved via Wi-Fi or cellular networks. The portal offers extended storage capabilities, allowing users to store up to six months' worth of HOS logs, DVIRs, and fuel receipts. Fleet managers can take advantage of this web portal to administer tasks, communicate with drivers, generate reports, and view vehicle locations on a map.
